Tour of Tech - Mark Your Calendars! January 13 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Our Tour of Tech event (formally Open House) will be taking place on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Current students as well as prospective 8th, 9th, and 10th graders are encouraged to attend. All programs will be featuring activities and demonstrations that showcase hands on learning opportunities in their course.

Prizes will include program cluster gift baskets and an Android Tablet!

Support Toys For Tots

The Tech Campus is sponsoring the Toys for Tots Drive this Holiday Season. Your donations of new toys will make a difference in the lives of those families less fortunate in Lake County. The drop off box is located in the front office. Donations will be accepted through December 17.

Support A Safe Place

The Technology Campus School of Visual Arts is supporting A SAFE PLACE by collecting Sleepers, Pajamas, and Robes for children and teens currently living in this local domestic violence shelter.  Please show your support by bringing in a new article of sleepwear sized for infants to teens (newborn to 14/16 or teen plus). All donations are greatly appreciated. Monetary donations are welcome.

Ms. Slis will purchase sleepwear in bulk from the donations to deliver before the holidays. Please send items to Room 163 by December 13, 2010.

Allied Health - Food Drive Success!

The Allied Health programs are sponsored a local community food drive at the end of November. Donations of non-perishable goods, in particular paper products, were collected. Thank you to all of those that made a difference in our community!

Culinary Arts Prepares Blackened Steak Salad

Culinary Arts students have prepared a Blackened Steak Salad for the Tech Campus Delicatessen/Cafe sold for $4.

  • Medium-Rare Flank Steak
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Marinated Mushrooms
  • Sliced Red Onions
  • Crumbled Bleu Cheese
  • Hard Boiled Eggs
  • Green Olives
  • Topped with Crispy Shallots
  • Served with a Red Wine Vinaigrette

The Culinary Arts department made Deviled Eggs for the Tech Campus Delicatessen/Cafe.  They are on sale 2 for 50 cents.

Culinary Arts Prepares Staff Lunch

On Wednesday, December 1, Culinary Arts prepared the following staff lunch for the Tech Campus Staff:
  • Soup: Italian wedding soup. Small meatballs, vegetables, spinach and herbs in a beef broth.
  • Entree: Monte Cristo Sandwiches. Shaved ham, turkey, and cheese, dipped in royal and cooked on the griddle served with fresh cranberry compote
  • Side one: roasted zucchini and tomato medley
  • Side two: home made potato chips
